Privacy Policy

Who this policy covers
This policy explains what Calcupoint(“we”, “us”) does with information when you use this website. It applies to every page, including the calculators, category pages, and these legal pages. It does not apply to sites or advertisers you leave Calcupoint to visit.
We do not offer accounts, and we do not ask for your name, email address, or payment details. The calculators are free.
The short version
A calculation runs in your browser. We do not operate a database of your mortgage figures, weight, or other entries. Two things still leave your device in the ordinary course of using the web: the address of the page you request, and, when advertising is turned on, cookies set by the advertising provider.
What stays on your device
Our own code stores only the following in your browser, and only on that browser:
- Theme. The key
themeremembers light or dark mode. - Saved scenarios. On the mortgage, loan, auto loan, and retirement calculators, “Save these numbers” stores a pair of entries under a key that starts with
calcupoint.scenarios.Each saved entry is the numbers then on the form and the time you saved them. Reset does not delete them. Clear does.
That information is not uploaded by our code. Clearing the site's data in your browser deletes it. Copying a result uses your device's clipboard and does not send the result to us.
What can reach a server
Asking your browser to open a page sends that page's address to the server that hosts Calcupoint. Some calculators write the numbers you entered into the address so you can reopen or share that exact set of inputs. Those calculators are mortgage, BMI, calorie, loan, and percentage. The other calculators do not write the numbers you entered into the address. If you open or share one of those five addresses, the numbers in it are part of the request. They can appear in ordinary hosting logs, along with the time, your IP address, the browser you used, and the referring page.
Do not put a shared link in a message, or in a bookmark you do not control, if you do not want those numbers stored with the address. Health and money figures in an address are still just figures you chose to put there. We do not use them to identify you or to build a profile.
The host keeps those logs for security and reliability, for the period its own practices set. We do not run a separate analytics product, and we do not add our own tracking pixels.
Advertising
Pages may show advertising through Google AdSense. Until an ad unit is connected, you see a labeled placeholder and no advertising script loads. When a unit is connected, Google and its partners may set or read cookies and similar identifiers, and may use information about your visits to this site and other sites to show and measure ads, including ads based on your interests.
We do not control those cookies, and we do not receive a file of your calculator entries from Google. Google describes its own practices at Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
You can limit advertising cookies:
- Google Ads Settings
- Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out
- Your Online Choices, for participants in Europe
- Your browser's controls for third-party cookies
Where the law requires a choice before non-essential cookies, advertising cookies should be used only in line with that law. Blocking third-party cookies stops them whether or not a banner is on the page. An opt-out cookie is itself a cookie. If you clear cookies, you may need to opt out again.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information for money.
- We do not buy data about you from data brokers.
- We do not ask you to create an account or join a mailing list.
- We do not use calculator entries to decide credit, insurance, housing, or employment.
Some privacy laws treat the use of cookies to show ads based on activity across sites as “sharing.” That activity, when ads are on, is Google's, and the opt-out links above are the control for it. We do not ourselves receive the advertising profile.
Why this processing happens
We process the hosting log because operating and protecting the site requires it. We store the theme and saved scenarios because you set them, and only on your device. Advertising cookies, when ads are connected, are processed by Google to deliver and measure ads. Where a law requires a specific legal ground, the ground for logs is our legitimate interest in running a secure site, and the ground for non-essential advertising cookies is consent where consent is required.
How long information lasts
Theme and saved scenarios last until you clear them or your browser drops them. Hosting logs last for the host's ordinary retention period. Advertising cookies last for the period Google sets, which you can end by clearing cookies or using the opt-out tools.
Children
Calcupoint is a general-audience site and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Health calculators are not diagnostic tools for a child. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, use the contact section below. What we can delete is a hosting log line, not an account.
Your choices and rights
You can:
- Use the calculators without saving a scenario and without sharing a link.
- Clear this site's local storage and cookies in your browser.
- Block third-party cookies, or use the advertising opt-out links above.
- Stop using the site at any time. There is no account to close.
If the law where you live gives you a right to access, correct, delete, or export personal information a business holds about you, or to appeal a refusal, you may ask. Because we do not keep an account, the information we can actually hold is a hosting log and, when ads are on, whatever Google holds under its own policy. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. We will not verify your identity by asking for documents we do not need.
Residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland may also have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests, to restrict processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Those rights do not require you to have an account.
International visitors
The site is available on the public internet. A request for a page is handled by the host that serves the domain you opened. That host may be in a country other than yours. We do not transfer a customer database, because we do not keep one. Advertising providers may process data in the United States and other countries under their own terms.
Security
No website can promise perfect security. The practical protection on this site is that the numbers you type are calculated locally and are not stored in an account. Shared links are only as private as the place you send them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and change the date above. If a change would start a new kind of collection that this policy does not already describe, we will update the policy before that collection begins. Continuing to use the site after the new version is posted means you accept it, except where the law requires a fresher form of consent.
